About Me!

Hi!  I’m Andrew Lawton and this is my blog. I am a trainee Biological curator at the Manchester Museum undertaking a twelve month HLF traineeship in Biological curation.  Hopefully this blog will  enable me to offer a reflection on some of the experiences and opportunities available to me during my traineeship; and I hope that you will enjoy reading about them.  I hope that through the traineeship many important skills and insights will be gained into the profession; and I’ll be in a strong position to apply for a job after it’s conclusion.  That’s the plan anyway!  So please come with me on this journey and I promise I’ll try not to say anything so cliched as that in my blog posts (well I’ll try not to anyway!)

Please note that all images (unless otherwise stated) are taken with the kind permission of Manchester Musuem.

Andrew Hi, I am interested in one of your images, damage to herbarium by biscuit beetle. Can I use it in my presentation on care of ethnobiological collections? I will acknowledge you and Manchester Museum in the caption. thank you Luba D Nurse http://lubasconservation.wordpress.com/

    • Hi Luba, I’m finally responding! Really great to meet you and learned a lot over the past two days. I will definitely follow your blog. Hopefully will post about the course soon!
      Thanks, Andrew
